BOOK BINDING

Steps:

·         Gather supplies- 30 pieces of white paper (8.5 by 14 inches) - ,process journal laminated , needle with large eye and thread (arms length), thumb tack and patience

·         Split 30 pieces into 3 groups of 10, then fold each in half like a hamburger. This is called a signature of paper.

·         Take all of your signatures and line them up within your cover, and draw a dot in 3 places on the fold of the signatures. (halfway dot, then dot on other sides, a quarter from sides)

·         Line your pages evenly inside cover and then mark where the dots are on the spine of cover. 3 dots in each marked spot and 2 extras on edge of book.(see image)

·         Poke three holes in the paper where you drew lines ,do this to each  signature

·         On the spine of your cover you should have 5 markings, poke 3  holes in line with each mark. You should have 15 holes on your cover. 

·         Thread your needle and tie a knot at the end of the string.

·         Take your needle through the bottom hole on the first signature on the right.

·         Then poke the needle through the cover that lines up with the signature

·         Follow the pictures and weave through until that signature is fully binded

·         On the very last hole of the signature do not put it through the paper ,put the needle to the right side of the signature

·         Start the next signature the same as you started the first.

·         Once you are finished binding, tie a knot to secure your binding, and you are done!
